Student Visa Crackdown

Following the discourse from the Labour party supporting International Students, who bring ‘billions in investment’ making the transition the UK, the current UK Home Secretary Theresa May has backed plans to ensure foreign students leave the UK as soon as they have finished their studies.

The current rules allow non – UK students to stay in the country for 4 months after their studies end, however if they gain a graduate job they are able to switch their student visa to a working one. May believes that the current system is being abused and needs to be clattered to suit the needs of Britain.

A Home Office spokesperson stated, ‘Making sure immigrants leave Britain at the end of their visa is as important a part of running a fair and efficient immigration system as controlling who comes here in the first place.’

What do you think about the plan?
