Student visa crackdown continues

Since the beginning of the year, the government’s student visa crackdown has affected approximately 19,000 individuals who were asked to leave the country. The greatest cause of concern is the alleged language qualification fraud which sees students cheat to gain a pass mark in an English language test, helping them to complete their visa application.

A Home Office representative stated that, those affected by the crackdown demonstrated ‘clear evidence that they cheated in a test’. Therefore, it is vital that Universites and other education establishments are aware of the law regarding recruiting and accepting international students into their institutions.
