Students who enhance their application forms by altering degree grades or making up false references now face the possibility of jail time for fraud.Recently, a student was jailed for 12 weeks for inflating his degree to a Masters and producing a false certificate that he bought on-line.  The maximum punishment under the Fraud Act 2006 is actually 10 years.

Why do it?  Because, 85 graduates are competing for each job and in some fields, 200 graduates compete for a job.
