Stay-at-home mum figures drop

According to new figures from the ONS, record numbers of women are opting out of staying at home after the birth of their children at an astounding rate of 12,000 per month.

Instead 4,000 per month, a record amount of men are choosing to become stay-at-home dad's or SAHD, the acronym to describe them.

Statistics from from the late nineties dictate that there used to be about 2.8 million stay-at-home mothers in the UK compared with the 2 million now.
