Gender pay gap disclosure

The Prime Minister has set out ‘a really big move’ in an attempt to equalise the gender pay gap which currently stands at 19.1% in the contemporary UK.

Mr Cameron stated that all large companies employing 250 staff or more, must disclose the gap between male and female earnings which will ‘cast sunlight on the discrepancies and create the pressure we need for change, driving women’s wages up.’

As it stands only 5 companies - Tesco, Friends Life, PwC, AstraZeneca and Genesis have published the pay gap voluntarily.
