Females overtaking males in STEM A Level results

A study carried out by management support services firm, AECOM indicates that though more males choose to study Maths and Physics at A Level, it is in fact females who gain the best grades.

Between 2009 and 2014, the amount of males studying Maths A Level has risen by 27% in comparison with 17% of females. Similarly with Physics, around 26% of males choose the subject compared with 18% of females.

When it comes to results day though, 72% females gain grade C and above in contrast to 66% of males.
