Following seven sold out GDPR conferences in 2017, we are pleased to confirm they are two further opportunities for employers to gain access to this widely acclaimed event. The 8th edition will take place in Manchester on the 24th January and our 9th Edition in London on the 8th February 2018.

The May 2018 implementation date is fast approaching and regardless of Brexit, employers must comply with the Gender Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Being a regulation rather than a directive, it will be directly applicable without additional national legislation. All businesses will be effected by the most important and far reaching change in data privacy law for twenty years with no distinction between B2B or B2C organisations. There is an urgent need for employers and HR professionals to start preparing now; and for those that already have, to consolidate and finalise preparations before the May deadline.

The ICO's Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, recently warned of GDPR scaremongering and the influx of false information from "GDPR experts". With time so short and an ever growing number of GDPR events, more employers are finding it difficult to know where to find access to genuine, trustworthy and sound information from respected individuals and organisations in this space.  We are proud to have built a fantastic network of the highest calibre legal, data privacy and compliance professionals, and consultants in this space; with engaging case studies and practical contributions from practitioners.

This event will focus in part on the impact of GDPR on the HR function (looking specifically at employee data and the responsibilities of those who handle it, including auditing third party processors, internal training etc). Delegates will understand and analyse the implications to their organisations and what their obligations will be, equipping them with the tools to meet the requirement of the GDPR by successfully preparing for the changes.

Responsibility may be passed between departments from IT to HR to Finance, but cross-functional teams will be best placed to implement effective plans.
