Menopause Support & Guidance: Getting Support (#08)

HR Risk Forums: Menopause Guidance - Getting Support

Based on your feedback and follow-up we’ve designed a series of free half-hour webinars to help facilitate open conversations around menopause in the workplace.

Time: 11:00 - 11:30 | FREE

When: Thursday, 4th April 2024

Selfcare and menopause symptoms - a checklist for your GP

As women start to realise they both need and have agency over their menopause health, we are delighted to feature a champion GP, Dr Olivia Hum,  to talk in more detail about the ways on which we can empower ourselves. As well as understanding more about the physical process of menopause, we will learn about the ways in which GPs are optimising their menopause knowledge and how we can make that all-important appointment count.

What are the questions to ask and what symptoms should we be noting and monitoring? What can we realistically expect and where are the ways in which we can best help ourselves?

We’ll discuss the concept of medicalising the menopause and what steps to take to make the process as natural and straightforward as possible. From the first perimenopause symptoms to becoming fully menopausal, we will arm you with a checklist of what to expect and how to alleviate symptoms. We’ll also invite your own experiences, positive and less so, from the health system you’ve chosen and look at the rise of ‘menopause experts’ and where you can become experts yourselves.

Delegate feedback

"It’s taken me far too long to join all the dots. I thought she was having a breakdown and didn’t know what to say or do to help".

"My wife had a radical hysterectomy recently and I need to know how to support her through early menopause".
