Simon has an extensive background in public service, not-for-profit leadership, and business. He brings a wealth of expertise in tackling financial crime and supporting vulnerable people. As the former MP for Barrow & Furness, Simon served on the Home Affairs Select Committee, chaired the Parliamentary groups on Cyber Security and AUKUS, and led the Government’s work on fraud as the Prime Minister’s Anti-Fraud Champion. He spearheaded significant local development initiatives, securing over £220 million in investment to support the Furness region's economy and infrastructure. Prior to his parliamentary career, Simon worked for over a decade with some of the biggest companies in the UK to prevent fraud and other financial crimes, with a particular passion for supporting vulnerable people.
