Maziar has been working on diversity in the City for a number of years. He helped launch Freshfields’ LGBT allies programme in 2014, before becoming the firm’s first bisexuality rep and first trans* rep. He was awarded Ally of the Year by Stonewall in 2017 for his advocacy in this area.
He has also worked on increasing diversity in the World Health Organisation, negotiating a landmark UN resolution earlier this year; and has supported the development of young black men in the UK through the Stephen Lawrence Scholarship programme and Growing Against Violence’s gang awareness outreach.
He is currently focused on establishing a charity to improve the participation of disabled people in the LGBT+ community.
