BFI Launches Ground-Breaking Event on Inclusive Recruitment & Best Practices
Date: 29th November 2023
We are proud to announce the launch of a transformative event focused on "Inclusive Recruitment Strategy & Practice." This ground-breaking initiative is set to take place on Thursday March 28th 2023 and will be accessible to a global audience on a virtual platform.
Speaker Mo Patel, an EDI strategist of two decades, said “this is a key moment in changing the trajectory of EDI to shape it into something meaningful and socially inclusive.”
In an era where diversity, equity, and inclusion are paramount, organisations are missing an opportunity by not overhauling outdated and exclusive recruitment practices. “There is a recruitment crisis and high unemployment’” said Elizabeth Smith, Head of Programming at BFI. “Clearly, there’s a disconnect here with companies not targeting or accessing a properly diverse audience. This event will look at how the recruitment landscape has shifted, and how to translate EDI policy into practical recruitment strategy.”
Organisations which claim to be diverse and inclusive are often ignoring potential applicants by using unexamined practices and being satisfied with very superficial box-ticking exercises.
Key event highlights:
- Expert Speakers: The event will feature renowned speakers from various industries, sharing their expertise on inclusive recruitment, diversity, and talent acquisition. Experts from Oxford NHS Foundation Trust, Davenport Solicitors, Dope Black Dads, Freemans Law and Numan will share successfully implemented inclusive practices and the lessons learned.
- Interactive Workshop: Participants will engage in a hands-on workshop designed to examine common assumptions and what needs to change to make a recruitment strategy truly inclusive. Delegates will learn practical tools and strategies for to allow attendees to actively participate and gain a deeper understanding of the key concepts discussed during the event.
- Case Studies: Real-world case studies will showcase successful examples of inclusive recruitment strategies. These case studies will offer tangible examples of how diverse and inclusive recruitment will create better workplaces.
- Q&A Sessions: Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and panellists through live Q&A sessions. This interactive element allows for a deeper exploration of the topics discussed and ensures that participants can address specific challenges or questions relevant to their organisations.
The event will be hosted on a virtual platform, offering a seamless and accessible experience for participants worldwide.
